The Bitcoin is held in a central wallet under our control until the unlock date. We follow industry-standard security practices. However, cryptoassets are not immune to risk and their value can fall, including to zero.

The recipient visits our Claim Page, fills in their details such as email, bear number, claim code and Bitcoin wallet address, and we transfer the Bitcoin. No PINs, no complexity, just Bitcoin ready to go.

The unlock date can be set up to twenty-two years in the future, making it the perfect long lasting gift!

For now, the maximum gift amount is £50 of Bitcoin per bear. This keeps the process easy and affordable for the First Edition.

Like any gift of Bitcoin, the value may go up or down and could even fall to zero. The bear stays cuddly no matter what. 🧸

Not yet. You will only need one when the Bitcoin unlocks. Until then, enjoy your bear and watch the balance move over time.

We will keep your Bitcoin safe for up to 24 months after the unlock date. We cannot hold it beyond that point because it upsets our accountants. Do not worry, we will send reminders so you do not forget to claim.
